The Median Group, formed in early 2018, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to research on global catastrophic risks. Our focus is on technological and geopolitical changes over the next century, and our aim is to model what such changes may look like and how their most detrimental effects might be mitigated or averted. Current research efforts include models of past and future progress in AI, presented at the Center for Human-Compatible AI, and of the impact climate change will have on global social and political dynamics.
